The most common question we get about Pimsleur courses are which course/level should I purchase? Some care should be taken as there is overlap between some of the entry level programs and the Comprehensive levels. If the guide below doesn't make it clear then please contact us

All Pimsleur courses are made up of individual lessons of approx. 30 minutes with 2 lessons per CD. The following list outlines which lessons are included in each program:

Pimsleur Quick & Simple (Lessons 1-8 on 4 CDs) - This includes the first 8 lessons of the Comprehensive Level 1 course.  This particular course is best for sampling the Pimsleur method at a very affordable price before committing to a full Comprehensive curriculum.  It is preferred by those that opt for a minimal level of language learning.

 

Pimsleur Basic (Lessons 1-10 on 5 CDs) - This includes the first 10 lessons of the Comprehensive Level 1 course.  The first 8 lessons of this course level are the exact same as those within the Quick & Simple courses.  This particular course is great for sampling the Pimsleur method at a very affordable price before committing to a full Comprehensive curriculum.  It is preferred by those that opt for a minimal level of language learning.

Pimsleur Compact (10 lessons total on 5 CDs) - Compact courses constitute a full Pimsleur 10-lesson course for our more exotic languages.

Pimsleur Comprehensive Level 1/I (Lessons 1-30 on 16 CDs) -  Offers 15 hours of all-audio instruction.  This course offers a more comprehensive curriculum than the Quick & Simple, Basic or Compact courses.

Pimsleur Comprehensive Level 2/II (Lessons 31-60 on 16 CDs) -  Offers 15 hours of all-audio instruction.  This course picks up from the end of Level 1.

Pimsleur Comprehensive Level 3/III (Lessons 61-90 on 16 CDs) -  Offers 15 hours of all-audio instruction.  This course picks up from the end of Level 2.

Pimsleur Plus (Lessons 91-100 on 5 CDs) -  Offers 10 additional hours of all-audio instruction for Spanish and German only.  This course picks up from the end of Level 3.
